L.H. Gamble Company was founded in Hawaii in 1950 by Lester Gamble, Sr. Based in Honolulu, L.H. Gamble Company has always prided itself on being one of the premier food brokers in the state.

In 1972, Hoagy Gamble joined the company and was named its president in 1985. 

In 1998, L.H. Gamble Company became the Hawaii affiliate of Kelly-Clarke Company,  the largest Western Region food broker at the time, and in 1999 Kelley-Clarke Company was acquired by Acosta Sales & Marketing, the country’s largest food broker.

With that change, L.H. Gamble Company became Acosta’s affiliate of record for Hawaii and continues to enjoy that business relationship.

In 2004 and 2005, Scott and Craig Gamble, Hoagy’s sons, joined the company with Scott handling the retail side of the business and Craig heading up foodservice.
